Our Story
Boys & Girls Clubs have been serving Sonoma County youth for sixty years! Many alumni fondly remember their days at the Barbieri Boxing Club in Healdsburg which eventually became our first Club in the County.
In 2008, Clubs in Healdsburg, Windsor and Rohnert Park made a bold choice and elected to join forces as a new organization - Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County. For these communities, the choice was clear. They aimed to both expand and continually improve services to the youth in their own backyards and they also shared a passion to reach out to ensure that every child in Sonoma County who wants or needs a Boys & Girls Club will have one.
To that end, in less than a year, the organization opened two new Clubs in Santa Rosa as well as a new Club in West Windsor.
In 2010 that expansion of services continued when our organization invited Boys & Girls Clubs of Cloverdale to join us. We now have two Clubs thriving in Cloverdale.
The Fall of 2010 brought two more openings with our first Club fully dedicated to teens at RAMS in Roseland and with our expansion into Geyersville!
In early 2011, we've continued to grow, adding a second location in Healdsburg and announcing a fourth Santa Rosa club to open at Sheppard Elementary School this fall.
The winter of 2011 brought 6 new Clubs in partnership with Santa Rosa City schools. Currently, we are serving over 2,300 youth every day and we are looking forward to years of continued growth - until every child in Sonoma County who needs or wants a Club has one!
We hope you'll keep your eye on our growth and invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of thousands of Sonoma County youth!
